Counselling

Individuals, Couples, and Families

Counselling can assist you with understanding yourself and your concerns in a new way. It can be difficult at times to know where to start or how to navigate barriers that prevent you from achieving the life you want. We believe that knowledge, self-awareness, and a sense of agency build the foundation for growth and personal change.

Sometimes support from a counsellor can be helpful when experiencing challenges because it can assist you with drawing on the strengths and resources you already possess in order to use them in new, creative, and meaningful ways. Counselling can assist you with creating the life you desire by supporting you in reconnecting with your own abilities in order to negotiate current and future challenges with confidence.

We will work with you in a respectful, compassionate, and collaborative manner to understand your concerns and find ways to help you move forward that will continue to serve you once our work has concluded. During each visit, we work to create a space where you can feel comfortable engaging with us openly and confidentially about your concerns.

We believe that incorporating approaches which best fit your unique needs will provide a foundation for positive outcomes and meaningful change. We use a combination of modalities to assist you in meeting your goals including relational, attachment-based, polyvagal, somatic, and narrative approaches to support you in transforming your life.

Consulting/Training

We provide tailored consulting and training for various community organizations specific to our areas of expertise.  Our training can assist with enhancing various clinical practices and increase the quality of programming you provide to others accessing your agency. We do our utmost to work with you and your team to determine what would best suit your needs in order to offer the level of support your organization requires.

Clinical Supervision

Professional and personal growth supports the continuing development of a high level of clinical expertise.  Given this, we are committed to providing clinical supervision that is compassionate, sensitive, and respectful. Our aim is to assist you in reflexively exploring your practice to address issues that arise and develop solutions in a collaborative manner.

Our Approach

Our practice is anchored within an anti-oppressive critical framework that focuses on your strengths and abilities. Your lived experiences provide you with the tools, insights, and resources to move towards positive change and growth. Acceptance, care, safety, and respect are important aspects of facilitating connection, developing new insights, and discovering your whole self.

We work collaboratively with you to create a space where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences while reflecting on their meaning and reframing them in a new way to facilitate movement forward.  A holistic lens sets the foundation for us to understand you and your circumstances within the context of your relationships and society as a whole.

We recognize that the concerns people struggle with are multi-dimensional and textured, and that addressing the deep wounds caused by marginalization and oppression is critical. We also believe that effecting change happens not only through our work with individuals, but also by engaging with transformative practices that work to dismantle various systems of oppression, which is equally important in addressing our individual and collective well-being.

The black part of the triangle meets the traditional LGBTQIP2SA+ flag colours that extend to the right.
